Ross Williams, I've lived in the beautiful county of Cornwall, in the UK, all my life, and I've been taking
Photographs for a few years now. I am also a member
of the Camborne Redruth Camera Club.
I've now moved completely from film to digital, which opened up
a new side of photography for me. Never being one to go out and shoot
a complete roll of film in one day, it would sometimes take me weeks
to fill a roll, and have it developed. Now with digital I can take as many, or as few, pictures as I like and have them edited and printed all the same day.
I have mastered Photoshop quite well, and even given tutorial lessons at
our camera club, helping to improve the clubs editing and printing techniques.
My equipment consists of a Canon Eos 1DmkIII, 400D, Canon G9 and collection
of Canon L series lenses, my favourite being the Canon 24-105mm L.
Why ChyAnGwel / Chy-An-Gwel? This is the name of the cottage where my wife Sandy
and I live. When we receive emails or, more rarely nowadays, letters from friends
they invariably ask, “How’s life at Chy-An-Gwel”. The name, as far as I can tell, translated
from the old Cornish language, means House in an arable field or House by the
arable field.
Well that’s enough about me, I hope you enjoy looking at my collection of
photos as much as I do taking them.
